The Project
The Beacon Allsorts project, “What’s my name? You Decide!” campaign, was created to engage with fans in a creative way and request them to name the legendary “Granny hat” look-alike liquorish sweet. The campaign’s objectives was to create awareness and interaction through Radio and Social Media networks such as Facebook and Twitter. With the presence of iShack Innovation’s Partner, Radio DJ and personality Gareth Cliff as well as witty Highveld stereo radio DJ Anele Mdoda to further establish a buzz, motivating fans to participate in naming this favourite All Sorts Beacon sweet.
What we did
iShack facilitated the voting for this national competition using our social voting application solution, VotingMonkey.com. VotingMonkey administered the registration of voters and tallied the votes across multiple platforms including, web, social media and mobile. VotingMonkey ensured a seemless experience for voting Beacon Allsorts fans and enhanced interaction and growth of their Facebook fan page. In addition, a dedicated Splash page was created on www.garethcliff.com to help enhance the interaction with this competition.
Results
An outstanding total of over thirty thousand visitors frequented the Beacon Allsorts, “What’s my name? You Decide!” voting competition, with the eventual six finalists receiving well over two thousand five hundred unique votes. The Beacon Allsorts Facebook fan page grew by over nine hundred fans during the voting period.
